Apparent Agreement to Fund Hamas through Abbas

Apparently the latest charade, which seems to be agreed to by all parties, is that Abbas will serve as a figurehead on top of the Hamas regime and will sign receipts of money from Israel, the US and the EU. Here is how Israel's acting Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, has justified his latest payment of more than $50 million to the PA, despite the landslide victory of Hamas, the open support of terror by Abbas' faction and the universal acknowledgement that the money paid so far has been regularly stolen by PA officials:

Israel will continue to cooperate with the Palestinian Authority so long as Hamas is not represented there, the acting prime minister, Ehud Olmert, said Monday. "As long as it doesn't contain a Hamas government, we will speak and cooperate" with the PA "with the intention of strengthening those who acknowledge the right of Israel to live without terror and within safe borders," Olmert said.

One reason given is that there is "no legal reason to freeze transfers." Although Olmert graduated from law school, he apparently missed the aspect of contract law that when one party to a peace agreement prepares instead to commit genocide on the other party, the other party's contractual obligations are waived.

Here are more explicitly delusional quotes from Olmert that ignore the reality of the Hamas landslide victory:

Olmert: Israel Not Interested in Harming Abbas

Israel is not interested in hurting Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas. He is the elected leader of the Palestinian Authority who was elected in transparent election by a sweeping majority of the Palestinian public....As long as he does not cooperate with Hamas, and as long as the Palestinian government is not led by Hamas, we will cooperate with the Palestinian Authority.

I believe that this statement will be judged as among the most self-destructively delusional in history.

Hamas, despite calls for moderation from many diplomats, continues to declare its intention to pursue genocide en route to a Global Jihad:

A new video on the official Hamas website shows the Israeli evacuation from Gaza while these words are sung:

"The invaders fled. The army of the Jews has been defeated. The home and homeland is returning through blood. Not through negotiations, surrender, or promises."

The words "not through negotiations" are sung over images of agreements signed by Shimon Peres and Ariel Sharon with Palestinian leaders.

The "homeland is returning" is sung over an image of the Israeli city of Haifa.
