I watched with interest President Bush's comments during a press briefing at a cabinet session today on television. What ran through my mind as he was defending the UAE as a staunch and loyal ally of the USA, was that the UAE is the hub of the oil rich Arab states. Could it be that Pres. Bush does not want to offend or alienate his source of income. His oil business and those of his cronies could be dramatically effected by his refusal to continue to allow the UAE to monitor American ports.
