The IDF admits that Gaza is wide open to weapons smuggling and the entry of terrorists - both through the Rafah terminal and through recently reactivated tunnels beneath the Philadelphi route in Rafah.
PA sources say ten terror operatives affiliated with al-Qaeda and other global jihad factions have infiltrated the Gaza Strip in recent weeks and are involved in smuggling materiel on a large scale.
Among the terrorists who entered were specialists who underwent training in sophisticated explosive devices and mass attacks at camps in Lebanon and even in Iran and Afghanistan.
Today's admission by the IDF confirms three predictions:
Prior to the pullout from Gaza I predicted that the Palestinians would focus their energies on turning Gaza into a world terror hub. I called it "Hamas-stan." I predicted their secondary goal would be transferring as many terrorists and weapons to the West Bank as possible. Densely populated central Israel is not easily defensible against attack from the strategic high ground of the West Bank.
Prior to the Rafah crossing deal, I predicted that the anti-terror arrangements were a complete charade and there would be no hindrance whatsoever to the movement of terrorists and weapons into Gaza.
Why would Israel's leadership agree to such a strategic capitulation to its mortal enemies? Kadima is
unusually corrupt and ideologically Left. The danger of corrupt leadership is that it will cede national assets for personal political advantage. Radical leftist ideology believes that it is good to make strategic concessions to one's enemies for various reasons.
Prediction: On September 18 I wrote that when Gaza shoulder-launched missiles are "smuggled into Samaria, they can down jets at Ben Gurion." I now predict that that a shoulder-launched missile will down a jet near Ben Gurion airport.
