A buffer zone will be created in the northern part of the Strip. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because no official statement has been released from the meeting yet.
Would-be Bomber Caught in West Bank
IDF troops on Wednesday caught a Palestinian in the West Bank with an explosives belt strapped around his waist and ready for use.
The would-be suicide bomber entered the industrial zone in the West Bank town of Barkan, near Ariel.
The army received intelligence information from the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) on Monday about plans to dispatch a suicide bomber from the West Bank town into Israel. Precise intelligence led troops to the Palestinian who was found inside a taxi.
Sappers detonated the explosives in a controlled explosion and the suspect was detained by the Shin Bet for interrogation.
