Rally for Captured Israeli Soldier on Monday
A rally for the release of Corporal Shalit will be held on Monday, July 10, 2006, at 12:00 noon, across from the Syrian Mission to the UN, 820 2nd Ave. between 43rd and 44th Streets, New York City. A companion rally will be held at the Syrian Embassy in Washington, D.C.
Hamas: We 'Have Defeated the Israeli Army'
Hamas's military wing, Izzadin al-Kassam announced in a press conference in Beit Lahiya Saturday evening that its fighters "have defeated the Israeli army."

Four Wounded as Kassam Rocket Strikes Sderot Home
"Four people were wounded on Sunday morning, 1 moderately and 3 lightly, when a Kassam rocket, launched from the northern Gaza Strip, landed in a house in Sderot.
The four were evacuated to Barzilai Hospital.
A second rocket landed in open territory in the city. No one was wounded and no damage was reported. "
IDF Kills 3 Palestinians Near Karni
"... At least three Palestinians were killed in IDF offensives in the area of the Karni Crossing. Israeli troops advanced 3-5 kilometers (roughly 2-3 miles) into Palestinian territory in search of tunnels and explosive devices, and identified a cell of three gunmen approaching forces. Soldiers opened fire on the gunmen, killing two of them."

FBI Disrupts New York City Tunnel Plot
"Authorities have disrupted planning by foreign terrorists for an attack on New York City tunnels, two law enforcement officials said Friday.
FBI agents monitoring Internet chat rooms used by extremists learned in recent months of the plot to strike a blow at the city's economy by destroying vital transportation networks, one official said."
Ukrainian "Synagogue Vandalized
"No one was hurt in the June 23 incident in which vandals threw stones at a synagogue in Kirovograd.
Two windows were shattered in Kirovograd?s Choral Synagogue in the incident, which was reported to the media a week later.
Local police are investigating the case but no arrests have been reported."
