IDF officials stated early Monday that the barrage of Katyusha rockets that landed in Afula, Upper Nazareth, Migdal Hamemek, and Givat Ela shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday were aimed at the Ramat David air force base, Army Radio reported.
The missiles triggered the area's early warning system, and no one was wounded.
Sunday evening's attack marked the southernmost region rockets had reached since the current conflict between Israel and Hizbullah began. Six people suffered from shock.
Afula is located some 45 kilometers southeast of Haifa.
