PM, Peretz Order IDF to Implement Expanded Ground Assault

The cabinet approved the operation on Wednesday, but delayed it until diplomatic efforts were exhausted. Apparently reports throughout Friday on a delay on a deal on a United Nations Security Council resolution on a cease-fire led to the decision. Heavy gun battles continued in the nearby village of Rashef on Friday, and six soldiers sustained light wounds.

For those of us not familiar with the territory could you provide some idea of where the fighting is when you mention a place.

i.e. on the left flank 10 km from the border.

on the left 1/2 way between Beirut and the border.

in the center 9 km north of the border.

on the right near the kink in the Litani.

in the Bekaa valley 14 km north of the kink in the Litani.

in the Bekaa valley 50 km south of Baalbeck.

etc.
