The silver lining in Israel's disappointing Lebanon War performance is that Ehud Olmert is now
backpedaling on his planned expulsion of Jews from their homes in Judea.
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said this week that in view of the war in Lebanon and the significant damage caused to the residents of northern Israel, his convergence plan was no longer at the top of his government's agenda.
Only
two weeks ago, he 'predicted that the outcome of the Israel Defense Forces' fighting in Lebanon would create "new momentum" for Israel's plan to separate from the Palestinians by withdrawing from much of the West Bank.'
