On August 16, I predicted that
the global jihad will rapidly accelerate with the perception that Hezbollah has attacked Israel and survived. Muslim plans for worldwide genocide have just rocketed past the tipping point....The aggressiveness of the jihad is rapidly accelerating This entry will document the phenomenon, beginning with Attacks on British Jews soar since Lebanon.
BRITISH Jews are facing a wave of anti-Semitic attacks prompted by Israel?s conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon. Synagogues have been daubed with graffiti, Jewish leaders have had hate-mail and ordinary people have been subjected to insults and vandalism.
On Thursday an all-party parliamentary inquiry will state that anti-Semitic violence has become endemic in Britain, both on the streets and university campuses. The report will call for urgent action from the Government, the police and educational establishments.
Mark Gardner, of the Community Security Trust, said: ?In July, when the conflict in Lebanon began, we received reports of 92 incidents, which was the third-worst month since records began in 1984.? In 2000 the monthly average was between 10 and 30 incidents.
The former minister Denis MacShane, who chaired the parliamentary inquiry, said: ?These figures confirm the evidence given to us that anti-Semitic attacks are a very real problem.?
The Board of Deputies of British Jews submitted evidence to the inquiry that anti-Semitism in Britain was at its worst level. Of course, the world still clings to the wrong paradigm: that addressing Muslim grievances will dampen their aggression. In this vein, Israel claimed victory from Lebanon--the naked aggression of Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria and Iran in initiating hostilities was "exposed for the world to see."
Here, for example, is a typical Hezbollah vignette:
Hezbollah Wants to Swap Soldiers for Child Murderer
In his Israeli jail cell Samir Qantar, who is serving four life sentences for murder and terrorism, dreams about an exchange of prisoners that might allow him to go home to Lebanon.
?I can imagine how I?ll return to my village,? he said. ?First I hug my mum, then my brothers and sisters, all of them. My idea, which I?ll never give up, is to come out of here with my head held up, without giving up any of my principles.?
Qantar, 44, has been in prison since 1979, when he took part in an attack whose horrifying outcome made him one of the most hated men in Israel. But in Lebanon, Hezbollah has made his release one of its key demands in negotiations to secure the freedom of Ehud Goldwasser, 31, and Eldad Regev, 26, the two Israeli soldiers it captured on July 12, triggering a 34-day war.
Qantar?s role in the attack on the coastal town of Nahariya 27 years ago would make this an especially bitter pill for Israelis to swallow. A policeman was killed and a family taken hostage when Qantar?s group burst into their home.
Danny Haran, 28, was shot at close range in front of his terrified four-year-old daughter Einat, whose head was then smashed with a rifle butt.
The dead man?s wife Smadar hid in a loft with their two-year-old daughter Yael, keeping a hand over her mouth to stop her crying out. But the girl suffocated, leaving Smadar Haran bereft of her husband and both daughters. It doesn't seem to have caused much Muslim introspection, however, because the Leftist template is exactly backward, as usual:
The argument between Islamists and the bulk of "moderate" Islam is primarily pragmatic. "Moderate Islam" points to Mohammed's dictum that when strong, conquer, and when weak, get strong. Given that the West is currently stronger, now is not the time for active jihad, they argue. The active global Islamic conquest, after all, stopped at the time of the fall of the Ottoman Empire. This demonstrated that the infidels were overwhelmingly stronger than the jihadis, and the time had come to dream of jihad instead of practicing it.
Islamists counter that the West is a "paper tiger," utterly unwilling to use its strength if tricked according to Mohammed's lesson that "war is deceit." When open aggression results in strategic advances such as Hamas' precipitation of Israel's retreat from Gaza, the debate evaporates.
