August 23, IRIS was probably the first blog to report that the majority of the $230 million US "reconstruction aid" for Lebanon would fund Hezbollah. Ten days later, the first mainstream newspaper has menitoned this possibility. Of course, it is one of a tiny number of non-liberal news sources, so don't expect any trend toward the restoration of sanity:

While there is much to be said for the concept of U.S. assistance to rebuild war-torn Lebanon, U.S. efforts to do so are bumping up against an unpleasant reality: It is extremely difficult to ensure that U.S. and international assistance is not used to strengthen Hezbollah.
