Bibi's push for divestment by major U.S. public pension funds from companies doing business with Iran made me laugh. He indicated acceptance of the idea from state Pension managers in Missouri and Massachusetts akin to that being sought by the Divest Terror crowd of Frank Gaffney, Jr of the Center for Security Policy and the Kumbaya Jews leading the Darfur Coalition. But Bibi was just grandstanding. I mean Arnold the 'governator' Schwarzenegger is my best friend and can put the arm on CALPERS - the megabillion highly independent California state pension fund?? Not! U.S. companies are already barred from trading with the Islamic Republic and have been for years. Gasoline sanctions and U.S. Naval blockades in the Gulf and possible seizure of the Kharg Island oil station are the remaining options short of 'military' ones-meaning bombing the nuc facilities that will bring Iran's rickety economy down. I mean I would have asked him about the DoD despatching two CVA task forces to bolster the Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. They weren't sent there for shore leave in a foreign port but to engage in a new version of the Tanker War of 1988, perhaps?

I frankly find myself weary of this fruitless fight. It's downright unrewarding trying to be a 'mishmeret ziyyun' for this current generation of post Zionist leaders and those few Zionists out in cyberspace.

Should the former Likud Kadimah pols in the Knesset 'bolt' and bring down the rotten Olmert government, then we'll see what Bibi strings together in the way of a ruling coalition. But they are 'protexia junkies' and don't want to lose their perquisites of office, so to speak. Rumor has it that Effie Eitam of the NRP would join a Bibi -led Likud government. As to others, who knows? Maybe Bibi's former aide, Avigdor Lieberman of Yisrael Beiteinu might come aboard after the fix is in. That leaves the matter of any role for Natan Sharansky, Chairman of OneJerusalem.

I had organized a series of media events and interviews for Uzi Landau in Florida, Philly and my former stomping grounds in Connecticut back in mid December, as a means of showcasing him as 'Israel's Churchill.' But from those in the know, the most Uzi will do is come back into the Knesset after his 'wilderness year' should the Olmert government fall this spring, as expected. I would have asked Bibi the political question of how the Kadimah 'yarn ball gets unraveled to produce an election and who would constitute reliable coalition ruling partners. But I got pre-empted by you and others on today's OJ bloggers call who were focused on the Iran regime change and Hamas existential threats to the Temple Mount and western wall plaza and the dynamic duo of Olmert-Livni temporizing about yakking with the islamokillers next door at the insistence of Condi Rice - 'they're not terrorists, but, er insurgents', Bush family consigliere and master puppeteer James Baker, III and Brent Scowcroft-AKA 'bent shovel', as I call him, Condi's NSC mentor from Bush I days.

Gotta get your priorities straight, eh?

But we in the feckless west still don't get it about 'militant Islam' as Bibi calls it, and probably won't until the Democratic 'sith lords' of Islam take over our Congress and replace the Constitution with Sharia law with the infidels dhimmi-like help, especially Kumbaya liberal Jews.
