Aftenposten:
The study results come just days after newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv ran a front-page story hailing Norway as "the richest country of all time" based on its foreign trade surplus and balance of payments. Norway's oil wealth continues to fuel its economy, but it's clear that not everyone is enjoying the results....It's clearly a paradox, and the question is why so many Norwegians are so unhappy.
Allow me to clear up the mystery. I know middle-age twins who are both on full disability in Norway for mental illness. They receive the equivalent of full salaries and of course, free medical treatment. Without the need to work and without children, they have found hobbies to keep themselves busy--they run frequent marathons and own and manage a large amount of real estate.
People of every nation take advantage of incentives.
