Eleven years ago, IRIS warned that because of the geography of Israel, Israel could face this nightmare scenario by turning over territory to the PA. I predicted this would be the main goal of the Palestinians prior to the withdrawal from Gaza, specifically talking about the current path toward the "nightmare scenario" since November 25. Israelis have clung to the mainstream media propaganda that the Kassam rokets falling daily are homemade, inaccurate and without much range. The IRIS map is based on Katyushas, with a range of 12.7 miles. Kassams once had a range of less than 2 miles but they are increasing to over 10.
Today there is news that "the Fatah organization in the Gaza Strip has Grad missiles, similar to Katyushas, which can reach a range of 30km" (18.6 miles).
IRIS' nightmare scenario may have been an underestimate.
As a result, precautions are being taken such as moving sensitive targets further inland. For example, there is news today that
Israel Considers Moving Eilat Airport Due to Al-Qaeda Missile Threat. The problem is that
Israel is a tiny country with no strategic depth in which to flee long-term.

The IRIS Blog and Soccerdad discuss how the ultra-PC Washington Post shamelessly tries to conceal the murders committed by the Hamas, by claiming that they "mostly refrained from violence".
