From the
Jerusalem Post:
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was rushed to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Jerusalem again late Wednesday night. Sharon, according to Channel 10, reportedly was conscious, and able to speak, but was suffering from some weakness.
The Prime Minister initially complained of feeling chest pressure and pain, and said that in general he wasn't feeling well.
My neurologist correspondent on this story comments:
There is not much to go on, but focal weakness would suggest another stroke, whether from an embolus or bleeding. It is hard to tell whether there was focal weakness. One could also get weakness from bleeding from anticoagulation. Or he could just have a cold. There is not enough information to tell.
Update: My anonymous neurologist comments:
The chest pressure/pain part is new since I first saw the article. While that could mean direct heart damage it could also be heightened concern on the part of his entourage.

A day before he was said to be going to the hospital for a special operation regarding his health situation, Ariel Sharon fell ill with a severe stroke, and it appears that he's no longer able to function as a political leader.
