the sad Sharon situation reminds me about American actor Cary Grant's death in '86 - doctors in that case said that the stroke was so massive that there was little they could do and that even if he had been brought to the hospital earlier he would not have survived

a Scottish First Minister a few years back was also on blood thinners after a hospital stay - he slipped and fell in the wet and struck his head causing a massive and fatal stroke because of the blood thinners.
