How the Media Was Scooped On Sharon

The gravity of Ariel Sharon's medical condition was almost completely ignored by the mainstream media. To read about the seriousness of Sharon's condition you had to read the blogs -- particularly the IRIS blog, which jumped on the story early on and basically scooped the world press.

What's interesting is not that IRIS scooped the media but how it did so, which was by very basic shoe-leather reporting.

One of the people that I am connected with, Barak, is the founder of IRIS. As this post indicates he was way ahead of the pack on this one.
