Today, the IAEA and its chief, Mohamed ElBaradei, were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Here is a list of ElBaradei's "accomplishments":
-He leaked an erroneous "October Surprise" report on "missing" Iraqi weapons to try to swing the presidential election to John Kerry.
-He praised Iran's "cooperation" with the IAEA despite being a terror sponsor with admittedly imminent nuclear weapons capability.
-His counsel regarding Iran was to "cross our fingers that nothing will happen" as well as to "urge patience."
-He undermined even censure of Iran et al, saying that as long as Israel has nuclear capabilities, it would be hypocritical to condemn others.

The IAEA?s ?success? in not exaggerating the threat of Iraq in 2003 is compromised by the number of times it has missed a threat entirely:
-Before the 1991 Gulf War (before Dr ElBaradei?s appointment), the IAEA failed to detect Saddam?s nuclear programme. After the war, it was startled by the scale of his work to make fissile material.
-Under Dr ElBaradei, the IAEA missed the Libyan nuclear programme, which Libya chose to reveal after the 2003 Iraq war.
-It missed Iran?s 20-year covert nuclear research programme, exposed by Iranian dissidents three years ago.
-It failed to detect the ?nuclear supermarket? run by A. Q. Khan, the Pakistani scientist who sold plans and components to Libya, North Korea and Iran.
-It was slow to sound the alarm about North Korea?s conversion of its civil nuclear power into a weapons programme. The US accused North Korea of weapons ambitions in 2002.

ElBaradei Rejects EU's Request to Condemn Iran
Mohamed ElBaradei, the head of the UN's nuclear monitor, has turned down an EU request to issue a far-reaching condemnation of Iran's nuclear program when the IAEA board meets in extraordinary session next month, a decision that could weaken U.S.-European efforts for a speedy referral of Iran to the UN Security Council. European diplomats say they are confident of winning a majority of votes to send the Iran dossier to New York, but a thin majority could slow down the momentum for censuring Iran at the UN.
So Mohamed ElBaradei gets the trophy. Here?s a question: When Iran actually goes nuclear as the world stands by, does ElBaradei have to give his trophy back? I mean, if he gets to play cat-and-mouse with nukes in Iran and...
